I love how photography can so clearly tell a story. With that, my goal is to capture the special, unique, once-in-a-life-time moments as they happen. I do this by being as inconspicuous as possible (ok, having a big camera with a big lens may give me away) so that people are unaware of the camera. This allows me to capture those stolen moments, quirky smiles, fleeting glances, which evoke the most powerful memories of the day.
Photography has been an integral part of my life from the beginning. It started with my Father, who had a passion for photography. I saw how he used photography to tell his story and the emotion it brought with it. So at the age of 12 (only so I could be just like my Dad) I picked up my first Yashica camera and never put it down again.
At age 15, I was at the right place at the right time and captured a phenomenal image which was published in the Austin, TX newspaper (yes, yes, I'm from Texas, and we do have the best barbeque! ) And then at the ripe old age of 16 I shot my first wedding. Throughout school I was immersed in photojournalism, winning several State Awards. I photographed everything from portraits, sports and events... I knew that I wanted photography to be my career.
But years later, life happened and my career turned more towards the creative, with web and graphic design, however I continued to have my love affair with photography.
10 years ago I had an opportunity to bring photography back to the forefront of my life and I ran with it! Today, I am based out of Winston-Salem, NC but don't let that discourage you. I love to travel and am willing to go anywhere in the world to document your day.
